February 15, 1944

Tuesday

"I clicked in school again.  I worked out in the gym again today.  It sure makes me feel good.
I got a letter from Mom and Sweet and a box of candy from Aunt Verna.  Still no candy from Sweet.
I wrote to Sweet and Mom tonight. I didn't write Betty much.  I hope she will understand.  All I could do is think instead of writing.
I went to night school tonight.  They are looking for two permanent Draftsmen, and with all the sloppy stuff they put out, I could run the place, but I am going to play square with myself and stick to subs, and not be a dry land sailor.  The only thing I would take it for Betty's sake.  But if she knew what I think, she would understand, Mother too.
