February 11, 1944

Friday

"Got restricted for two days, for having my pillow face the wrong way, some manly discipline they have here,  I thought they would come Sat. and Sun, but into today and Saturday, so I will still have Sunday free.
Had to muster at 4:15 and again at 6:15.  Worked at waxing the decks in Sound school for two hours and reported again at 8:45 then at 9:45 had to be in my bunk in the blue room.  What a place that hole is.
Shoveled snow all morning.  It's been snowing all day.  It's about 12 inches thick now.   Got a letter from Mom and a get well card from Marjorie and Mrs. St John, a swell Valentine from Betty and 4 of her letters and a letter from Betty.  I don't know her.  She got my address from Aunt Ida.  She sent her picture wanting to write to me.  I don't know how to write to another girl.  I'm going to Sunday and tell her very politely that I have one girl and she is the only one I ever want."

Dad got a lot of mail today.  There was another Betty that wrote him.  Sounds like he will send her a reply but only once.
