Saturday

"We had weeks tests again today, and I went to small stores.
After school I took all of two hours to clean up and shave.  I got some talcum powder.  Boy it stinks so pretty.
I didn't write Betty tonight.  I didn't have much to say.  I hope she will understand.
Went to the show by myself and saw, "Chip off the old block."  It was about young kids. I thought it was swell.
A short was, "Marines on Tarawa."  It showed dead Marines in the water along the beach, bloated and floating.  It hit me like a truck.  God what a sight that was."

When Dad saw, "Pearl Harbor," in the movies and at his home, several scenes really disturbed him.
