March 15, 1944

Wednesday

"We went out on the Pike again today.  I had the Bow Planes, everything 4.0.  The skipper made a beautiful dock this evening.  I'm getting to feel more at home aboard now.
We had exercises after school hours this evening.  Not so hot.  I don't like the idea.
After the show I washed my jumper and cleaned out my locker.
Well they left today at 10:00.  At least they said they were going too.  I hope they get on their train O.K.  I stopped at 10:00 and daydreamed a bit.  It sort of seemed like my life was leaving.  It was at that.  I will see Sweet someday though.
I'm tired so I am going to hit the sack at 8:30.
I got the letter Betty wrote at the hotel.  I'm not going to write tonight.  She will understand.  I'm going to catch up on my sleep.  I love you sweetheart with all my heart."
