Friday

"We had our week's test today, 100%.
Had locker inspection this afternoon.  The chief saw Betty's picture and just stood there and looked.  Then he just said, "She is really a pretty girl.  Son, you are a very lucky man."  Marked down 4.0 without even inspecting it.  The rest of the guys was standing around and of course they had to see too.  They all said that she was sweet and beautiful.  I was so darned proud.  She is swell and the prettiest girl I've ever seen.  I love you Sweetheart.
Gaudette and I went to the early show and saw, "Meet the People," with Dick Powel, Lucille Ball, frozen Puss, and Van Monroe and his orchestra.  It was swell.  I got a letter from Betty today and an Easter card, it was sweet, and here I couldn't even send her one.  I wrote to sweet and then hit the sack.
     With all my love.
